The following is an outline of the general procedure for an application to World Ministries for “status” Assemblies of God. Each person is treated as an individual so there will be some variation.
Initial enquiry or application direct to Susan Chalmers at AoG office
Preliminary interview arranged in conjunction with Area Team Leader
Area Team Leader decides whether to issue papers
Susan sends out papers along with information for the candidate regarding process and costs etc.
Papers returned to Susan who will send for references. All papers & references sent to Area Team Leader
Interview arranged in conjunction with Area Team Leader, Susan & interview team.
Full papers sent to interview panel and a resume to full World Ministries team
Interview panel decide whether to recommend acceptance and any conditions applying
Medical and psychological assessment at InterHealth or Healthcare 360 arranged
Position papers (candidates understanding of the AOG doctrinal position) to be sent to Area Team Leader.
On satisfactory completion of papers & medical candidate will be presented to full WM team for endorsement of the appropriate status.
Candidate invited to attend part of WM team meeting to be introduced to full team, whether at time of endorsement or subsequent meeting.
All candidates are normally required to attend our Training Course at Mattersey, but we do not make this compulsory for those applying for Certificated Missionary (non-UK) or Associate Missionary status. The course usually runs for 3 weeks from immediately after the August Bank Holiday weekend at Mattersey Hall.
Arrange appropriate Medical Insurance
Fulfil requirements regarding financial arrangements (financial agent, AOG bank account, appropriate tax & NI arrangements)
